Classic White Sauce

THIN:
1 tblsp. butter
1 tblsp. flour
1 c. milk
1/3 tsp. salt

MEDIUM:
2 tblsp. butter
2 tblsp. flour
1 c. milk
1/3 tsp. salt

THICK:
2 tblsp. butter
3 1/2 tblsp. flour
1 c. milk
1/3 tsp. salt

Variations:
*Add 2 c. cheese for cheese sauce.
*Add 1/2 - 1 c. vegetables for soup. (Broccoli, potatoes, cauliflower, peas, etc.)
